Low-order services- Small shops that sell convenience items that people wouldn’t travel far for e.g. newspapers, not particularly expensive or special food or drink items including alcohol, magazines, books, cleaning items, stationary, household first aid items, pet food and a post office etc.
High-order services- Shops that you would travel a long way for e.g. jewellery shops containing expensive metals like gold, platinum and silver etc, precious gems like diamonds etc, expensive, high quality clothing, expensive alcohol, expensive food and technology etc.
Sphere of influence- Sphere of influence is the population of people or amount of people that visit somewhere every day. This is important because this number depends if shops are built.
Threshold- The difference between low and high order services e.g. the Savoy has a higher threshold than M&S.
